Author: RandiRPeterson Surnames: Busby Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.busby/2013.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Cindy, I am so glad that you contacted me! I have been doing research off and on for many years now and the busby side has been one of my many mysteries. My grandma Audrey never met her father her entire life and had only met some relatives when her and husband Sam Swartzfager traveled south for their 25th wedding anniversary in 1967. In that visit she was given some school photos of her half siblings and on the back were the first names so that is how I came up with some of thier names. In Dec 1926 when Audrey and Aubrey were born in Monroe, LA, Ruth Nellie and Perry Busby had already Split up and were living seperately and in the process of their divorce. Ruth Nellie told Audrey that the reason they were divorced was because he had met another woman and that the other woman was pregnant with a child that was born only a few months afer her. We were told that other baby was Alfred. Like I said that is just the story we got and never had dates to compare or both sides of t! he story. But it was because of that story that Audrey never tried to connect with her father. I have a tree on ancestry with all of the info I have to date posted that I would love to share with you, I just need your email. Also, I would love to see what you have in your tree, if you could share what ever you have I would really appreciate it!! randipeterson@inbox.com Thanks and God Bless, Randi Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: abusby165 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.busby/2013.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Randi My husband is Perry Miles Busby's grandson. He is the son to Alfred Miles Busby and Johnnie Faye Babcock Busby. We recently got interested in researching the family. Let me tell you a little about the information on our family. Alfred had two sisters, Bernice and Leoma. Their mother was Clemmie Cox Busby. My husband is Alfred Allan Busby. He recalls meeting your mother, Audrey and her husband. It has been some years ago and he cannot recall what year. The family really enjoyed visiting with her. We were unaware there was a twin son born. This is interesting information to us. Do you know where they were living at the time Audrey and Aubrey were born? We would like to see if we could find where he is buried. We currently live in the Houston, Texas area but Allan's parents still live in the area of Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. Eddie and Joe Busby were born in Perry's later years to wife Evelyn but we have not been able to find their marriage record. Perry and Clemmie were married twice. They divorced the final time in 1954. Perry's parents were George W. and Miranda Kelly Busby. Thanks for posting. I have other information if you are interested. I descend from Elisha Buzbee who lived in Houston and Crawford counties GA. Elisha and his sons William H and Frederick definitely knew William Reese as they appear is several court records together. I think Elisha may have been related to Benjamin and William Reese in some way. I am not a Buzbee but my mother was. I would to get my cousin who is a Busbee to take the test.
