You don't give any indication of where Robert lived or when he was born. There were a lot of Robert Busbys. I have a least 5 in my own family.
This is not my Busby family but I have done a little research on those Busbys and that is the right Robert Busby. Dorothy Arlene Busby died in Clifton Forge, VA. June 25, 1991. There is a gentleman that I have written to that is connected to that family. (Harlow) Marilyn

I found them listed in the 1920 census. Their daughter Dorothy Arlene was born in 1924. By the time the 1930 census rolled around, they were not listed. I did find a Robert Busby as a convict in Greene County, Va. in 1930. It has been suggested that he murdered his wife. Does anyone have any information about that? This is what I know: Married Martha Elizabeth Hancock, 1857, Pontotoc, MS, bond signed by Robert Busby; in Sevier County, AR in 1860 with wife and 2 sons stating he was born in AL in 1820; served in the Civil War; can find no records after Civil War; his grandson, my father, said he came to the United States during the potato famine in 1840s or 1850 from Ireland which contradicts the birth in AL in 1820. Does anyone have any information on this family? Also, my father said his Dad had 2 cousins named Johnny and Robert who he believed lived in Brownfield, TX which would mean that John M L Busby had at least one brother if this is true. Four of his sons(Allen, Elisha, James and George) lived to have families and I know where most of their offspring scattered. Abraham and Deborah were originally from Baltimore but moved to Harrison County Ohio after the War of 1812.
