Can anyone on the list tell me who this man is: Phillip Busbee of Houston, Cty, Ga. deceased. Date of Bond: 7 Nov. 1859. Adm.: Joseph E. Sloan. Security: Elizabeth Sloan. Amt: $1,000. In Aug. 1860 Wm. E. Sloan is named adm. following the death of Joseph E. Sloan. The Sloans lived in Houston and Crawford Counties. Could Phillip be the unidentified son of Allen who was supposed to have been born ca. 1825? I have not had the chance to go to the Houston County Courthouse to do further research. The info. came from a book of transcribed Adm. records of Hounton County I found at Washington Memorial Library in Macon, Ga. Any info and comments welcomed. Thanks. Barbara Grizzle
Is this Miles Tillman Buzbee born ca 1805 married Prudence Smith born ca 1806 with a son James L. Busbee born ca 1829 and killed (?) CSA? If so he is my g-g-g-grandfather. Could that Susannah Busby(Busbee) be another relative - older sister of Sheppard Busby and William? Sheppard's first son was named John( after his father ?). This Susannah Busby born SC ca 1800 married a fellow last name Agnew.
Gaila, I also have a copy of Miles Busbee's will. I had it copied along with Benjamin's will while I was in Edgefield, SC. some years back. I, too, have been wondering about Susannah, and am positive that she was the widow of Benjamin, d. 1815. Although Benjamin leaves property to three sons: Benjamin, Jr., Miles and William Reese, as well as Susannah, who lived nearby. I think he had many more sons and daughters who at the time of his death had already left the state for parts west and south. Since most of his property was in commodities, tools, furnishings and land, I doubt he found it expedient to leave such property for his absent progeny. At least that is my speculation for the lack of mention of other children in the will. Has anyone ever found a death record for Susannah? That could be helpful in determining her age. The search goes on. Howard R. Busby

Dear Ferrell, Sorry - will have to decline. I suffer the same maladies as you do. In addition, I don't have the knowledge or the time. My wife Pat is the computer guru here and she is up to her earballs in her own genealogy. I had to twist her arm to get her to help me with the DNA project. I would like to thank you for all you have done to expand the web site and our knowledge. My best to whomever you can get to relieve you. You will be sorely missed. Cousin, Wayne
I was told by my eye doctor women carry the gene, but are not color blind, just the men. My son is color blind (I think reds and green). I know it is hereditary, but we never knew from whom. Was a real shock at the time. Always wondered how he made it through school. Of course the military picked up on it real fast. Marsha
While my Father was not actually color-blind, there were several colors he could not distinguish very well. For instance, he could not tell the difference in shades of blue unless they were very pronounced. I have the same problem with whites. I found out I was color blind, blues, blacks & navy blues, until I asked him about 30 years ago. And he said it was unusual for a woman to be color blind. So maybe it does run in our family. Hello All, My sincerest apologies for this. I am usually more astute, but obviously not so on this occasion. If you have (like I did) followed the instructions, then to 'undo' your actions, I found the instructions at the following, to be useful. http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_99436.htm Again heartfelt apologies for the inconvenience. Ray Busby I received this from another source and since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you will find it in your computer too. The virus (called jdbgmgr.exe) is not detected by Norton or McAfee antivirus systems. The virus sits quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mail to your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and how to get rid of it: 1. Go to start, Find or search option. 2. In the file folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search your C: drive and all subfolders and any other drives you may have. 4. Click "find now" 5. The Virus has a Teddy Bear icon with name jdbgmgr.exe DO NOT OPEN IT! 6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar) and choose "select all" to highlight the file without opening it. 7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete. It will then go to the Recycle Bin. 8. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS. To do this: a) Open a new e-mail message b) Click the icon of the address book next to the "TO" c) Highlight every name and add to "BCC" (which means blind copy) d) Copy this message and paste to e-mail
