Busby in the 1860 census of Wilkinson county is who we've always believed was Georgia's father. I'm having a difficult time finding him in the 1850 census though. One researcher has concluded that he is DG Busby of Bibb county, but the kids ages match, and not the names. Dennis' youngest son's name from the 1860 census has been transcribed Bazewell or Passmore for quite some time, but after looking at the actual page, I believe it is more likely something like Bozeman or even Baynerd. The 1860 census shows Dennis with his second wife. We know she was not the mother of the known children because of a divorce filing from Wilkinson Co, where Dennis G. Buzbee filed for divorce. I've also looked in Houston County in 1840 for Dennis because he purchased property there in 1836, but I'm unable to locate him in that county at all, however there were about 4 busby men that were of the right age to be siblings. I'm still digging and looking for anything about Dennis G. even if Georgia's death certificate says John Busbee. Valleri

I imagine since her death was caused by 2nd and 3rd degree burns over the whole of her lower body, she was probably at the hospital in Hawkinsville. (Interesting note, my father was born there at the hospital in Hawkinsville, although the family lived in Cochran at the time.) Valleri Collins

We have always looked for Dennis G Busby or some variant for her father, however, this death certificate lists John Busbee as her father. Ora May Justice, who I believe to be Georgia's daughter wrote and signed the death certificate dated 1/21/1930. The death occurred 12/26/1929, and apparently the cause of death was 2nd and 3rd degree burns from getting her dress caught in a fire. Does this ring a bell for anyone?

    1. [Busbee Busby] BENJAMIN F. BUSBY/MARY E. ROBISON or ROBINSON-LIMESTONE CO, TX MID 1800'S
    2. Still trying to find info on a Benjamin F. Busby and Mary E. Robison/Robinson Busby who married in Limestone Co, TX Jan 2, 1887. Think Mary could be daughter of Lewis Robison/Robinson and Mary Elizabeth Bledsoe. Benjamin F is buried at Prairie Hill Cemetery in Limestone Co. I believe they could be parents of a child found buried at Honest Ridge Cemetery, Limestone Co. Just outside the ornate ironwork fence that encloses the family plot of my Paulina/Perlina Busby and husband, Spotswood Tucker, is the grave of a child. Her headstone says, "Katie T. Busby, born Nov 16, 1887 and died May 19, 1889.....d/o B. F. and M. E. Busby." I do not know how she is connected, if at all, to my Busbys but would like to find her family. Does anyone know anything about the individuals mentioned above? Many thanks, Paula

    3. Hello I have opened the gateway from the message board to the list. I think for the most part it will be beneficial in the exchange of information. Bad luck that the second one was a virus warning. New viruses randomly take any address from an infected machine and send out emails. I would expect that everyone on the list has virus software. Please just ignore this message and instead just talk about our Busby families. Is anyone connected to Northern Busbys? I haven't gotten further back than SC and most of the information I have is from the south. If anyone can help Tracy with her Pennsylvania Buzbys, please remember to answer via the Busby message board. Thanks Gaila
