The William Jasper Busby that Vohn is talking about was in Panola County, Mississippi in 1880. He was in Attala Co., MS. in 1860. I never found him in 1870. I think that was a popular name with in the Busby's. Marilyn

Hi Vohn, My report for you states William Jasper 1845. I can't recall seeing a William Jasper Busby from Alabama in the 1880 census but will check my files and let you know if I can find out anything about him. Could be one of your relatives.!! Wayne
the ALABAMA William Jasper is not mine
I am trying to locate Debra Herring Joyner who submitted to the LDS ordinance data a report on William Reese Busbee dated 7/28/2001. Please contact me @ [email protected] Thanks, Wayne Busbice

Let me know whats involved and I'll see if my computer can handle the job.
Hello List, Try as I might it appears that I just do not have the time to update and maintain the Busbee/Busby website. I need someone to take over this labor of love for me and keep it an interesting and vital site. If you are interested please let me know. I will be unable to make updates at this time due to family and work pressures. I know we must have some talented webmasters out there eager to put their touch on this website whose value to researchers can not be stressed enough. Regards, Tiffany
Are there any land records in Mississippi for Seaborn? I always question Census records, because you never know who answered the questions. I thought it was funny to see a female ancestor of mine getting 5 years older every 10th year. I guess at 12 or 13 years that wouldn't have started yet. Does anyone connect to S Busbee of the 1850 census? Any land records for Sebren? They have just discovered boxes of records in Edgefield District and that might eventually give us assistance with some of these records we have been missing. <The dates aren't exactly correct but they are close. Do the other children fit? The DNA does tell us it is likely that William (first Busby to settle in SC and Benjamin were brothers. They were too close in age to be father and son.> Apologies, I should have said that it appears William and Benjamin are related, descended from the same ancestor. It isn't likely that they were Father and son, but could have been brothers, Cousins, uncle and nephew. Gaila
Vohn and Marilyn, Do you think Seaborn b about 1815 is the same person in the 1850 Orangeburgh Census ( page 32, The Indutiable Busbee and their Kin) page 327 Busbee, S 40 M W (birthplace) SC Rachel 35 FW ditto William 7 M W ditto Sarah 5 FW ditto Heziah 2 F W ditto page 324 Miles & Prudence J & Harriet ( Jesse) Edith The dates aren't exactly correct but they are close. Do the other children fit? The DNA does tell us it is likely that William (first Busby to settle in SC and Benjamin were brothers. They were too close in age to be father and son. I have to run to class but tell me if you recognise the other children. I look forward to doing more research on this with you Regards, Gaila
Gaila, I have looked at that census for years and have had my suspicions. The ages fit so close and the name of the first child but the other two names are really way off base. Dates that I have on Seaborn: Seaborn Buzzbee, b. about 1814 Rachel b. about 1815 William Jasper, b. March 09, 1845 Mary Elizabeth b. about 1847 Nancy L. b. March 23, 1849

Hoping someone can provide additional information on Benjamin and Mary, shown below. Who were their parents? My Matthew Busby was born ca 1770's, probably in or around Amherst Co, VA. He moved his family to Adair Co, KY in the early 1800's where he died ca 1842-43. Most of his adult children moved to Freestone, Limestone, Falls and Robertson Counties of TX ca 1850. The rest moved to Carroll Co, MO. I feel this Benjamin Busby must be connected to Matthew in some way. Thanks for any help, Paula Can anyone provide more information on Benjamin F (Franklin?) Busby, born July 24, 1850 in Carroll Co, MO; died Sept 13, 1926 in Limestone Co, TX. Married Mary Elizabeth? Robinson/Robison on Jan 2, 1887 in Limestone Co, TX. She was daughter of Lewis Robinson/Robison and Mary Elizabeth Bledsoe.
Wondering if anyone has a Wesley Busby; could be his first or middle name. He's mentioned as a legatee in an Amherst Co, VA guardian bond: "THE WILLS OF AMHERST COUNTY, VIRGINIA 1761-1865" by B. F. Davis Paulina Busby-Book 8, page--Guardian Bond--MATTHEW BUSBY, ISAAC RUCKER, SR. and WILLIAM McDANIEL, December 11, 1829, for Matthew Busby as guardian and attorney-in-fact for Paulina, Nancy, Matilda, and Edward Busby----guardian for them and attorney-in-fact for Milton, Tilford and David T. Busby. Receipt for $617.50 from Edward and Robert Tinsley, administrators of David Tinsley. There is also mention of the fact that Matilda and Wesley Busby are Tinsley legatees. I supposedly have the names of all of Matthew and Seluda Tinsley Busby's children so I suspect that Wesley is a middle name of one of the sons. I would also be very interested in learning how the Ruckers and Marrs connect to the Tinsley-McDaniel families of Amherst Co, VA. Thanks for any help, Paula
Hi Gaila Firstly thanks for the reply, I'll see what I can find on the Rootswseb board. Grandfather's Name was Gordon Thomas Carswell Busby, and he married Gladys Tillman. He was born 22 Oct 1922, Gran was born 26 Mar 1925 and they married 27 Mar 1946. There is some confusion over my grandfather as he was Born (registered) as Gordon Thomas Busby Carswell, but this was due to his father being away when he was registered (and great grandfather and great grandmother being unmarried). Once Great Grandfather arrived back, it was changed to Gordon Thomas Carswell Busby (as it should have been) Buz ----- Original Message ----- From: Gaila & James Merrington <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 06, 2003 5:24 AM Subject: Re: [Busbee Busby] Busby Assisatnce > Hi Craig, > Most of us are on the Busby list with Roots from North America, but on the > Busby UK message boards at Rootsweb, you might be able to locate a few > hints.
