BURRIS b.ca.1883 TX was said to have helped build Ft. Knox. I have never found anything showing he did. HOWEVER you know how 'family hearsay' can lead one astray and i am wondering if Walter BURRIS helped build this Ft. Burris you mentioned. Did you find anymore out on it??? When was it supposed to have been built?? When did it burn down?? This is interesting if you find anything more on it. I still have no idea what Walter BURRIS parents names were or where they came from?? I have little on him before he married 5 Mar 1903 in Cumberland I.T. to Willie May ABLES. I also want to know where he died and is buried as he died of the flu epidemic of ca.1919.
