Need help with Elijah or Levi Burris charged with Bastardy in Anderson Co, TN in 1828. Could Elijah Burris & Levi Burris be one & the same person??? Tennessee Tidbits, 1778-1914, Vol 3 Levi Burris was with Bastardy charged with 2 cases on July 15, 1828. He was charged by Tabitha Beach & Gean Baxter with being the father of their bastard children. He gave bond with Wm Burris & Wm Webb as security. (And TN Co Ct Min, 4/171) It is my believe JANE & JEAN are one & the same person & an error in transcription. Tennessee Tidbits, 1778-1914, Vol 3 Elijah Burris was charged with Bastardy 15 July 1828 by Delila Runels. He made bond to kept the county harmless for all costs for the maintainance of said child, with Wm Buris & John Harrol as security.(And TN Co Ct Min, 4/171) Any help would be appreciated.
