I have been searching for years for the parents of my great grandmother, ARMELDA J. BURRIS DEPEW. She was born in 1840 and the census for later years states that she was born in Indiana. However, I cannot find a Burris family in Indiana in the 1840 census who had an infant daughter born that year. I believe her parents were born in KY and OH. She married Joseph M. Depew in Iowa in 1856, and they later settled in MO where she died in 1888 in Dallas County. If anyone knows of a BURRIS family who had a baby girl born in 1840, I would love to search the name to see if I can make a connection. Thanks. DPeirsol
