Hi Alice- Thanks for your response. I'm not sure where Meriwether Co. is in relation to Baker county. I'm in California and do my research "long distance" via the Internet. My Burroughs (Burris) line was in Cumberland Co. NC in the 1830 census and by 1840 they are in Meriwether Co. GA. My 3rd gr, grandmother, Mary Ann Burris married John C. Burch in 1842 in Meriwether. After that they all seemed to move to Randolph Co. Alabama where they show up inthe 1850 census. People sure moved around a lot in those days! (lol) I'll keep searching and let you know if I find anything interesting. Kathy
