Hi, I joined this list hoping to get some help though I'm not even sure of the spelling of the name I need and Soundex has 43 different spellings. for Burris, Burress, Burrows, or whatever it is. I am looking for a LUCY BURRIS (?) who was born about 1796 in Virginia and married a WILLIAM STUMP around 1822. I have no idea what part of Virginia she came from but William was living in Maryland then, so it would probably be somewhere in that area. They moved to Ohio and settled in Allen County, living there the rest of their lives. Their children were Margaret, Nancy, Sopie, John, and William.. I can't imagine doing a search for 43 names, but if anyone knows anything about this Lucy it would be a tremendous help. Or if anyone knows which spelling would be most prevalent in this part of the country at that time. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Gracie
