    1. [BURRIS] Nancy Ann Burris in Georgia
    2. I am trying to find the family of a Nancy Ann Burris, born about 1826 in Georgia. In about 1845 she married George W. Lunceford, and they are listed in the 1850 Census of Baker County, Georgia with their two children, John and Catherine. Any information about her Burris Family would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Alice

    2. Hi Alice- Thanks for your response. I'm not sure where Meriwether Co. is in relation to Baker county. I'm in California and do my research "long distance" via the Internet. My Burroughs (Burris) line was in Cumberland Co. NC in the 1830 census and by 1840 they are in Meriwether Co. GA. My 3rd gr, grandmother, Mary Ann Burris married John C. Burch in 1842 in Meriwether. After that they all seemed to move to Randolph Co. Alabama where they show up inthe 1850 census. People sure moved around a lot in those days! (lol) I'll keep searching and let you know if I find anything interesting. Kathy

    3. Hi, I see many writing to the list requesting information. Does anyone have any information on a William Burris, who was probably born in Virginia, about 1802 and married Catherine Trout in 1827 in Bellaire, Belmont County, Ohio. I believe that William Burris father to be a James Burris and Catherine Trout's father was John Trout They had 9 children : Margaret, Sarah, Sylvester, Jacob, James, Elizabeth, Cynthia, Catherine, and Mary. I find census information on them but have been unsuccessful in finding any information as to families of the children or the parents of William and Catherine. Hoping someone else is seeking information on this family also. Sincerely, Mary Myers at maryfmyers@earthlink.net

    2. Kathy: I wish I could tell you more than I already have posted but that is all that I know about about this Nancy Ann's lineage. I have her married to George W. Lunsford and then appearing in the 1850 Census in Baker county with their two children. I do have much more about her after that but nothing more before. Until recently, I only had her name as Nancy Ann ( from the Census) but after I posted a query on the Lunsford site, I received an answer from someone who was posting responses to several Lunsford questions and all he told me was that Nancy Ann's maiden name was Burris. He did proceed to give several other responses in more detail to other questions and he seemed very well informed on all the Lunsfords. I wrote back and asked if he knew any more about her, but no response so far. I'll let you know if I find out anything more. Where is Meriwether County ? Is it close to Baker County where they were in 1850? Thanks, Alice
