Hi...Sorry. I didn't mean to confuse anyone. I got a message that said they received something that indicated my name was not on the list so they wanted to know how to contact me (or something like that). So, I told them to send messages to me at my email address then. I was stumped at that announcement too, so that's why I told him what I did. I only have one Rebecca Burris that might fit your bill. She is Rebecca Burris born 1-5-1801 Highland Co., OH, daughter of John Burris and Francis Ballard. I have no record of marriages for her. I was able to locate Henry Ammons in Monroe Co., OH buying land 1836. There was also a Thomas Burris in the same county. Apparently there are several Henry Ammons around. I found one in PA in 1850 but he was aged 60 from Maryland, but his wife was not Rebecca - it looked more like Nancy or possibly Amy (can't tell because of the fancy writing on the Census.) I found a younger one in Illinois in 1850 who was a single laborer. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi Ned. I found my BURRIS ancestry in Maryland and Delaware census records. Be sure that you are checking for the spelling of BURROWS or BURROUGHS or any variations of the spelling. Also, check in the Queen Anne Co., MD census plus Kent Co., MD and Kent Co., DE They are connected or divided by a state and county line. I found my grandfather was born in Millington Queen Co., MD and it was near the state line of Delaware in Kent Co., DE where his older siblings were born. Check the probate records...I found a Benjamin F. BURRIS/BURROWS listed in 1889-1889. I think you should actually check the Kent co. DE records near the Dover and Smyrna, DE area as I noticed that several of the BURRIS families were neighbors and the census taker spelled their names as BURROWS. My g-grandfather Edward BURRIS could not write his name so I would assume that his father couldn't either.
