    3. For those subscribers using Hotmail for list mail: If you are a list subscriber using Hotmail to subscribe to this list, you should be aware that Hotmail is refusing to accept some or most RootsWeb list mail. This can often result in your being unsubscribed from the list. The following is a suggestion which came from the Listowners List...which may or may not work but it's worth a try. Go to Hotmail and login and look under Options, in the middle column. There are 3 settings- safe list, mailing lists, and custom filter. Subscribers in L mode should add the LIST address under the mailing lists section because list mail comes TO the list address and not to the subscriber address and otherwise will be treated like spam if the list address isn't on the list of mailing lists. Digest subscribers should add the D-request address (the one the digest always comes from) to the Safe list--list of acceptable senders. For instance, you should add BURRIS-L@rootsweb.com to a separate approved mailing list section. This would permit mail that has these list addresses in the TO address of the incoming mail to be delivered. Please report to me how this works for you...and Thanks for your help and cooperation, Derrell Oakley Teat, List Mom To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237

They had a daughter(my 4th great grandma) Catharine Isabelle Burris Pitts. I have no other children for Charles and Nancy, but only the birthdate of Catharine(spelling may very) as 17 October 1840, pos. in Ill. It's possible that Olive and Catharine could be 12 or 13 years apart, if Catharine is that possible 4th child. I have nothing more on these people to know if Nancy was married more htne once, or when/if she was widowed. I do have a great picure of Nancy in her later years, tho!!! And I can bring her line to present day. Let me know if connect--- Debi at RANDRAC1@aol.com

    1. [BURRIS] census interpretation needed, great for ALL to see...
    2. crystalwoman
    3. Hi ALL- I am "cross-eyed" right now from looking at all the data most of the a.m. that i found....as i found a new source today and been in this while i was looking for more data on my husband's BURRIS & ABLE(S)line. There is a great source of data here that a woman no longer with us on this earth named Mary Turner Kinard had done. I spent hours looking for clues on all the census and marriages she has copied there..for IT and OK late 1890 and into early 1900's. I never looked in the Counties listed there as i was only looking in one County before or the Chickasaw Territory, but there are numerous BURRIS & ABLES here.... http://www.rootsweb.com/~okgarvin/kinard/stephens1900cena.htm For one, i find on this 1900 Chickasaw Territory, Stephens Co. census: There are 6 ABLES in one family shown there shown at 317-259. Also, above them shows 3 people in 1-4 and they may be ABLES too, but does not show last name?!? It shows: HA Head White Male b.Dec1871 28 y.o. Married-1 b.MO parents b.TN TN and he is Laborer Willie WIFE b.May 1879 and 21 y.o. Married-1 b.TX parents b.MS b.AL has 1 child Pearl E dtr b.Apr 1900 0 y.o. b.IT parents b.MO TX Who are these 3 living in 1-4???? Anyone willing to help or have access to the original?? My husbands g grandmother was Willie May ABLES and m. Walter Lee BURRIS. I have a copy of their marriage certificate but also found them in this great database in of all places under Chickaswa Marriages from Ardmore Courthouse in Groom Index 1895-1907 Book G p.178. It shows alphabetical under B grooms: Cumberland - W L BURRIS 23 m. Willie ABLES 18 5 Mar 1903. P.S. post any viewpoint after going there on the list for all to see what or who you think the 3 are. Thanks. Have fun....Happy Trails, Joan in rural MT Also, visit my 4 personal home pages on spirituality and genealogy: http://www.geocities.com/crystalwoman_2000/roots.html crystalwoman@montana.com
