Prior to the outbreak of the war all list members (I'm on many) were told to keep the posting 'only' to genealogy and that the lists were "NOT" a place to discuss our views or the war. With this directive I gave a big sigh of relief & a silent thank you to Roots Web knowing that I could 'escape' the problems we face in the world as well as those we encounter in our personal lives. I do genealogy to keep sane as it keeps my mind from dwelling on what I am dealing with ie: husband in hosp & potential nursing home, worry about those we know and love who are so vailantly serving our country. I do NOT need this kind of upsetting thread. If you want war news (as I do) go to the tv or http://intellnet.org or go to the blog sites to get unbiased, unembedded journalists reports. I fully stand behind our troops and those of the coalition and am very active in sending packages however I do NOT want to hear about it when I'm on a genealogy site or list!!! If you're unhappy with Roots Web then unsub but PLEASE let's get back to genealogy!!!! Searching: Samuel BURNS in Barre VT in 1880 age 88.
