    1. Re: [BURNS-L] Re: John Burns
    2. Hi Craig, Thanks for the information. The date is so close to my gggGrandfather's. His is Nov 4, 1788. (This may be wrong.) He died during the Civil War and was buried in his front yard. When his sons came home after the Civil War he was moved to the Cemetery in Pleasant Hope. I have found other dates wrong before. There is suppose to be Mitchells in the Burns family but nobody here could tie into them. One of John's daughter, Susannah left here when John was killed in 1863. Her husband was in a federal prison and she was afraid for her and her children. She left here and went to Arkansas and stayed with a family of Mitchells in Izard Co. until Nelson Baker (her husband) came home and then they moved there. I have a cousin in Izard Co. but the Mitchell's there don't think they are related, but how many times has that been proved wrong. What information do you have on this John? My gggGrandfather stated in his War of 1812 pension file he came to TN as a young lad. I know he was in Bedford Co. TN in Oct 12, 1811 when he married Margaret Wilson, daughter of James Wilson. He stayed there until 1835 when he moved to Tippah Co. MS and left there in August 1837 over a land disput. He came to MO and stayed here. His children were named: first son drowned name unknown. John Foster Born 1814, William B. Born 1816, Robert W. Born 1818 (my ggGrandfather), Sarah Malinda Born 1824, Susannah Matilda Born 1826, Joseph M Born 1828, Thomas Zachuess Lafayette Born 1830, Elihu Dennis Born 1832 (Boice's gggGrandfather). Does any of this connect with you? Thanks Lorene
