Hi, I'm looking for information on my great grandmother. Her name was Margaret or Maggie Byrne or Byrnes, but was listed as Burns on her marriage certificate. The only info I have on her is that she was married on 10 Apr 1877 at St Peter's in Ashton WI to John Koch. One of the witnesses was John Burns, and I have no idea if he was her brother or who he was. She was also buried at St Peter, and her stone lists 6 Oct 1856 as her birthdate, and 16 Apr 1893 for her death. I do not know if she was born in the US, or in Ireland. I am looking for her birth location, as well as parent's and sibling's names. Any hints as to where to look would be appreciated. Thanks, Julie Edwards
Julie, I have traced part of my family to Wisconsin, I'll try to send you what I have. My great(x2) grandfather lived there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julie Edwards" <jedwards@umich.edu> To: <BURNS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 5:16 PM Subject: [BURNS] Maggie Burns (Byrne, Byrnes) in Wisconsin, and John > Hi, > I'm looking for information on my great grandmother. Hello, If you happen to come across a Joseph Burns, please let me know.He is my GGreat grandfather. I have traced him back to wisconsin and know that he married Elizabeth Lawrence (sp?) About 1870 in Minnesota. From there they moved to South Dakota but, other than that I don't know. The only other thing I found is that he was born in Maine. thanks, Todd Burns ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julie Edwards" <jedwards@umich.edu> To: <BURNS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 4:16 PM Subject: [BURNS] Maggie Burns (Byrne, Byrnes) in Wisconsin, and John > Hi, > I'm looking for information on my great grandmother.
