    2. I guess I too don't understand this DNA thing. I can see testing through the male line. If there was a male in each generation. But testing through the female line would eventually lead you to a male. Correct? My gr. grandfather was Patrick Burns. the only male born to him never married or fathered any chidren. The remaining children of Patrick Burns were four girls. One of which was my grandmother. So you see it is maternal for me at least back to Patrick. Michele Finneran Williams
