Hello Basil, I am sorry but the dates of your grandfather John doesn't match mine. My John was born Nov. 4, 1788 in either North or South Carolina. The 1850 census said N.C and the 1860 census said SC. I do know he stated he came to TN as a young lad and he married Margaret Wilson in Bedford Co. TN on Oct 12, 1811. All this was in his War of 1812 pension file. He went to MS from 1835 to 1837. He moved with all his children to MO in August 1837. He lived here until his death by the MO Home Guard Sept 1, 1863.
