Still looking for the parents of John BURNS b. 1820 Ireland d. 1872 Atlanta, Logan Co., IL; m. Mary Ann Kelley abt 1848-1850 in the states. She was b. 1-1-1820 Shannon, Claire Co, Ireland, d. 5-5-1895 Atlanta, IL. They both came to the states around 1832. The first I find them is 1850 census Monroe Co., Coolbaugh Twp, PA with a son, Francis (Franklin) Kelley Burns b. April 1850. Then in 1852 son Peter was b. and by 1854 when my g.grandfather was b. they were in Atlanta, IL. From the 'naming' pattern of the Irish, I assume John's dad would be either Francis or Peter????
