Looking for family of George Burns of Edgefield, South Carolina, the earliest ancestor I have found. I guess he was born about 1730. Where? I think he was the George Burns who was granted 350 acres on 96 Creek, "on the bounty;" this land is now Edgefield, SC. I guess his wife was Elizabeth Heard. Is this right? I think George died about April 1771. George's known sons were George, Robert, William. I think John Burns of Edgefield was also a son. HOw were these Burns men related to Silas Burns of Edgefield?
