Hello, My gggGrandfather John Burns was born Nov 4, 1788. His birthplace is listed different on the 1850 says NC and and 1860 says SC. I don't know if either is correct. His War of 1812 pension files state he came to TN as a young lad. He was in Bedford Co. TN by 1811 when he married my gggGrandmother Margaret Wilson. The had 9 children. First son drown and I don't have a name. The other children are: John Foster, William B, Robert W. Sarah Malinda, Susannah Matilda, Joseph M, Zachuees Thomas Lafayette and Elihu Dennis. Do any of these names connect to your line? Please let me know. I have hit a brick wall on my gggGrandfather John Burns. His middle name may have been Elias. This I haven't proven.
