Richard A. Whitson Jr, 69, of Waco (Texas), died June 2, 2000 in Nashville, Tenn. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. June 5, 2000, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ramsdell and the Rev. Mark DeVries officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Whitson was born July 4, 1930, to Richard "Dick" and Mary Othell Wilmouth Whitson of Midland. He married Louise Nall in 1955 and they would have celebrated their 45th anniversary on Aug. 27 of this year. He served in the United States Navy and was Auto Center Manager for Sears for over 30 years. Mr. Whitson was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Midland, Texas Chapter of the Masonic Lodge No. 623. He is survived by his wife, Louise Whitson; one son, Richard A. Whitson III of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Susan DeVries and husband, Mark of Nashville; three grandchildren, Richard Adam DeVries, Debbie DeVries and Leigh DeVries; three sisters, Peggy Lindley of Lubbock, Barbara Ratliff of Hide Away Lake and Mae Spencer of Midland; six nieces and 10 nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Adam DeVries, Odis Ratliff, Tom Spencer, Dean Higgins, Tim Higgins, Sam Maley, Carroll Nall Jr, Jim Nall, Mark Ratliff, and Carl Smith. *************************************************************** Louise Nall Whitson is the daughter of late Dillard D. Nall of Midland. Dillard's lineage is as follows: Hugh S., Jefferson D., Merrill Marion, William, James, Nathan, and Martin. Louise's mother is Emma Burns formerly of Bell County, TX. Her Burns's line is as follows: William Leslie, Thomas Andrew, William, Thomas Patrick, and John.
