Ellen, pardon me for butting in here, but by anychance were your Pa. Burns from the Lancaster Pa. area? I have been at a brick wall for some time. Yvonne
I really don't know if they were in Lancaster, I know they were in Ashland (Skuylkill Co,) Ashley and Wilkes-Barre( both in Luzerne Co.). The first Burns that I have real records on is Michael Burns( great grandfather) born Carbon Co.( Skuylkill Co) 1838. I am after the person I THINK is Michaels father, Patrick Burns born Belfast Ireland and immigrated to Pottsville( Skuylkill) . I have a copy of "intent " to become a citizen.
