    3. Thank you for answering my posting. I don't have enough information to say whether he might connect or not - however - I just heard from someone else that does connect and he says that there was a James in our line that went to middle Tennessee in 1804 and lived there until 1831 and went on to Illinois.. However, he had a son James and I don't know where he went. There were other brothers to the older James and they named their kids James too!. He and my Jeremiah were two of 12 sons and one daughter! I don't envy your trying to figure this one! It took us 30 years to connect my John Burns born in 1821 to this family! 3. CJ: Where in middle TN did these Burnses come from? I have a "mysterious" John Burns (my GGGF)who appeared more or less from "nowhere" about that date of 1804 into Bedford County, TN. Every time we decide we have found his line, some flaw in our theory shows up and nullifies the whole thing. His wife was Margaret Wilson and they married there in Bedford County in 1811. John was born in 1788 and Margaret was born in 1796. The Wilsons came from Mecklenburg County, NC but Margaret's father James Wilson moved his family to Lincoln County, GA a short time after the Revolution so that's where Margaret was born. We have theorized for a long time that our John came to Bedford County, TN with the Wilsons but have no proof. We have another"theory" that John's father was named James. We have absolutely no information as to John's siblings, etc so we're willing to listen to information on any line that passed thru middle TN. Our John Burns left Bedford County about 1835 and went to Tippah County, MS, stayed just a couple or so years and went on to Polk County. MO where he settled his family in 1837.A lot of his descendants still live in that area of southwest MO, so we have plenty of information on the family after 1837 but have been hung up on earlier dates for a long time. Where did your Burnses come from in Middle TN? Boice Burns Houston, TX H & CJ Nichols wrote: > Thank you for answering my posting.
