I took a quick look in my files, and I don't seem to have a Mattie Alice Burns. However, I do have a Martha A. Burns, but she was born in 1857 and married a Stewart. Remember that Mattie was commonly used as a nickname for Martha, Margret, and Mary (at least in my experience), so don't rule those out while searching for her. I will keep my eyes out for her.... you may also look in Hopkins County, Texas...for if she was one of the ones in my line, she would have most likely moved with them from Lauderdale Co., AL to Hopkins Co., TX, and I believe (will have to go back and look to be sure) they moved around 1894...so this would have been just a few years after she was married.
