Hi Yvonne and C J, I have heard the same thing from my grandmother. In our genealogy there are many people with the middle name of Burns, My fathers name was Robert after the poet, my name is Roberta after the poet, I have in my possession a book, "The complete Works Of Burns' including his letters. copyright 1834, It has been handed down from geneation to generation in our family and was supposed to have belonged to Jean Armour Burns, his wife. My geat grand mother was Sarah Eliza H. Burns, born around 1800, we are not sure what the H in her name stands for, Some say Hyslip. but cant prove it. She lived and married in Franklin County Georgia. She may have been born there also, no record of it. My grand mother could not tell me how we were related, just that we were. I have been searching but have run up against a dead end so far. I just wanted to tell my story, I know there are others out there beside's us with similar stories.
