My grandmother was Isabella Burns, of Eglish, Dungannon, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and claimed that her grandfather was Bobbie Burns uncle. Also claimed that he left Scotland because Robbie was a disgrace to the family. My mother was outraged when we came to Canada and she heard about the Robbie Burns day celebrationsk. "He is nothing but an old rake". Who knows we may be related. ----- Original Message ----- From: "alangail" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 31, 2000 12:50 AM Subject: Re: [BURNS-L] > hi there > I do know that poet robert burns brother ended up in new zealand hes a > reverend > IM sopposed to be related to him ????? > any body in new zealand help? > > > ==== BURNS Mailing List ==== > BURNS Family Mail List Archives: > courtesy of Rootsweb, our gracious host! > http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl > Just type in the mail list's name: BURNS > > > ============================== > Search over 600 million names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/search
