I know that I have some Burns cousins that settled in San Antonio, and have a GGG grandfather named Willoughby Burns who married a Marie Romero in Louisiana (1839, I think). They had a son named John C. Burns who married a Marie Breaux, but you may be descended from a line further back. The oldest Burns I know is John Burns who married Sarah McWilliams around 1800.
