Cherie, Thanks for your note. Researching a name like Burns is sometimes like hunting for the proverbial needle in the haystack so it is exciting to find threads that might lead to missing pieces of the family puzzle. Part of our dilemma seems to be related to the fact that Granny (Nancy Jane) was an "outside child" as was Uncle Bill. This was, apparently, never talked about by my Southern Baptist Grandmother or any of her siblings. Conversations with a cousin confirm the information that there was a sister Kathryn/Katherine, and that she married a John Seeley. I also found an entry in my baby book about a gift from Great Aunt Katherine Seeley. The naming patterns of families in that area do create some puzzling questions. The Malinda and William combination is what peaked my interest. I would be interested in comparing notes further if you are. Pamela
