I'm also looking for an Ann Burns. My Ann was probably born between 1760 and 1770. She married Samuel Agnew (possibly in PA or NJ) and they moved to Hamilton Co., OH. In the Hamilton Co., court records: Samuel died in 1813 and Ann Agnew was named Admx. In 1814 James Burns was appointed guardian of Allen Agnew 13 and Jane Agnew 5, children of Samuel Agnew, decd. I believe James Burns was Ann's father, but he could be her brother or a second husband. I never got any farther than the 1880 census when Ann Burns was in the orphanage with Patrick. I probably should try the 1900 census in NYS - Binghamton area.
