I am trying to locate information on John BURNS. He was born in Ireland, and married to Catherine Barry, also of Ireland. This information was obtained from their daughter, Sarah (BURNS) O'Neil's death certificate. Sarah Burns was born in Freeport, IL in 1862. The Stephenson County Census of 1870 lists a John Burns, age 50 born in Indiana or Ireland, apparently the name is unreadable. Also in the household are: Ann, 45 John,14 Patrick, 12 Sarah, 10 Margaret, 5 This family was located in Loran township in 1870. The family seems similar to the family I am seeking, could Ann have been Catherine Ann? And Sarah's age is 2 years off. All the children were born in Illinois.
