George Burns Sr died 1771 in Edgefield, SC. In 1789 the land of George Burns senior was divided among his sons George, Robert, and William. 1790 census. George Burns, Edgefield: 30000 (apparently George and his brothers Robert and William) 1800. George Burns: 20010 10010 04 George Burns died before 1810, his estate was administered by John Burns and the widow Sally with Jesse Paine and Edward Kirksley securities George left sons David Rd Burns and George H Burns. They had moved to Union County, SC, by 1825. Robert Burns, son of George Burns Senior who died 1771 in Edgefield SC. He died before 1800 leaving widow Fanny and one child, Robert born 1798 who married Mary Burton and had a daughter Frances who married Garland Goode. I don't know if Robert and Mary had other children. The widow of Robert Burns the son of George Burns Senior married second to Nathaniel Samuel. William the son of George Burns Senior who died 1771 in Edgefield, SC. William died 1826. I am a bit confused about his wives. I think perhaps he first married Sarah Conner but am very uncertain. His wife when he died was Fanny Crews (Cruise) the widow of Abraham Cruise. Fanny had a daughter Frances Crews. Willliam's son George was born 1795 and died November 1826. William also had a son John, two daughters, one of whom was probably Lucinda. John whom I believe to be the eldest son of George but maybe not, was born about 1763 and died 1816 at age 53. He married Agnes "Nancy " Walker and had two children: Elizabeth Catherine born 1813, and John Heard Burns born 1815. John Heard Burns's first guardian was Catlett Conner, the "learned blacksmith" who was a state senator. After Conner's death, Elias Lake became John H Burns's guardian. John's first wife was Harriet C Pettigrew who died 1 March 1843 in Eutaw, Alabama, leaving one son John E Burns born 1842 in Greene County, AL, who died between 1850 and 1853 in Caddo Parish, LA John Heard Burns's second wife was Elvira Hapzibah Maxwell who died 6 October 1852 leaving sons Simeon Maxwell b 1847 March 21 and who married Lizzie Green; Simeon Maxwell Burns died 20 September 1920, leaving sons Simeon and Bill who married Faldine Rhilander, and daughter Nan. Elvira's second son was Albert Walter Burns born 1848 John Heard Burns's third wife was Mary Elizabeth Lake daughter of Elias Lake and Eleanor Henderson. She had Eleanor "Nellie" born 29 Jan 1856 in Caddo Parish LA who married 1877 Chaarles Hill and had Charles, Nellie, Minnie, and John. John and Mary Elizabeth had Elias Lake Burns born about 1855 in Caddo Parish who died after 1880. Also Mary Agnes "Minnie" born 21 April 1864 died 6 January 1940 in Milam County, Texas, and finally daughter Kate who lived and died in 1867.
