Hello, I have a James Burns who came to Nova Scotia in the early 1800's. I know about his children but not his parents so I am not sure if he came from Ireland or Scotland (documents say Ireland but I don't know whether originally Scotland). Does anyone have info on James Burns, in Hants County, Nova Scotia who would like to compare notes? I would love to find a connection to help me learn where the family originated. Thank you. Archie and my G Grandfather Adam Burns both were born in Girvan Scotland. The story is, James first wife died and then James went back to Scotland to get another wife. This wife is where Adam Burns came from. Do you have any idea on how I can get info. From Girvan Scotland on the Burns family that lived there? Both James Burns and Archie Burns have brothers and sisters. I come to dead ends when I go into Scottish web sits. If I could get in touch with a historian, in Girvan its self. Only other ifo. that came though the family is that two g,g uncles were the high guards to the first Quean Elizabeth. Twenty five years each. Do not know if there anything to this story, would like to know if it is true or not. Did your Burns family come through Canada? It is great to get a answer from a Burns.
