    3. I have seen your ancestor's birth and death dates in several emails this morning. The US Census started listing all family members in 1850. You might try looking for Thomas in the census. If you have the death place, find a death certificate, that should list his parents and his wife. Your local state archives should be able to help you, and the Morman church in Salt Lake City is a wealth of info.
