Greetings from Iowa! I ran across your post of 8/1 as I was sorting through the last couple of weeks of e-mail and wonder if there might be some connection between your Burns ancestors and mine. The ones I know the most about were/are in southeastern Kentucky but we have some information indicating they came to Kentucky from the Carolinas. Neither of the names you mention are familiar to me but there were some twins in my line. My great-great grandmother was Malinda "Lindy" Burns and her daughter Nancy Jane Burns (m. Hugh Ward) was my great grandmother. I would love to hear from you if you think there might be some common pieces in our family puzzles. I would be happy to share any information I have.
