    3. Dear Pamela, I don't know if this will help, all i've got is this: my Grandmother was Bernice Maxine Burns born Oct. 8, 1928. she had 10 children one died at birth. her parents were John Leonard Burns and Velma Victoria Rogers. They had 12 children. I've no dates on John Leonard Burns. His father was Charlie Albert Burns also no dates but his parents were Tom Burns (mother unknown). Velman Victoris Rogers parents were Sherman Rogers and Amy Rector. Sherman's parents were Gilliam Rogers and mother Mary Jane (last name unknown). Amy Rector's parents were Frank Rector and Adlia (last name unknown). also i've no dates. Tom Burns is my 3rd great-grandfather, or my 6th generation. this info i have on the Burns's on my family is from my great aunt Carolen Burn's (who is Bernice Maxine Burns's sister) from one of her old Bibles. As far as i know they have lived in MO for a long time, and i don't have a clue as to where they were before MO. Christy Pamelasbrownmsw@aol.com wrote: Greetings from Iowa! I ran across your post of 8/1 as I was sorting through the last couple of weeks of e-mail and wonder if there might be some connection between your Burns ancestors and mine. The ones I know the most about were/are in southeastern Kentucky but we have some information indicating they came to Kentucky from the Carolinas. Neither of the names you mention are familiar to me but there were some twins in my line. My great-great grandmother was Malinda "Lindy" Burns and her daughter Nancy Jane Burns (m. Hugh Ward) was my great grandmother. I would love to hear from you if you think there might be some common pieces in our family puzzles. I would be happy to share any information I have. As I am sure you have discovered, this is not the easiest name to trace. Pamela S.
