I am looking for any information on my great grandfather, Anthony Burns, who lived in Tallahassee and is buried there. Here is what I do know: B: feb 13 1874 (maybe, see below) D: dec 27 1927 Tallahassee, FL (from falling off a ladder while drunk. Cemetery lists cause of death as acute alcoholism) - Buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee, FL - Went by Tony - Was married to Alma Cates, of Orange Co NC (and later divorced) - Had two children with Alma, Charles Cates Burns and Elizabeth Burns Sheffield (both buried in Oakland Cemetery with him) - Had a brother or cousin named Boston (1877-1949) who had a sister named Elizabeth Burns. Both also lived in Leon County. - Supposedly has a WWI Draft card, though the image doesnt exist on ancestry.com - Had relatives in Wakulla Co, FL 3 censuses list 3 different birth places for his mother: 1900 Leon Co FL p178 William R. Crowder 22 FL Bettie 30 FL Tony Burns 22 FL boarder SC-FL [parents states of birth] Ralph Crowder 4 FL [child of Wm and Bettie] 1910 Leon Co FL p150 Anthony Burns 33 FL married 2 years NC-FL [parents states of birth] Alma J 22 NC 1/0 [she has had one child who is not living] 1920 Leon Co FL p134 Anthony Burns 43 FL boarder, divorced [FL-FL] [parents states of birth] (and, if you will notice, the dates and age dont match up. All three of these censuses put his birth year at 1877. His draft card lists it as 1874, as does a handwritten note from my great grandmother.) So, does this guy fit anywhere? Thanks!
