I thought I would post some information I have received and/or found, over the years, on some Burns families not related to mine but thought it might help someone. >From Edwards County, Illinois Charles P. Burns m. Sally Campbell 1817. 2 daughters, Johanna (m. James Grayson, 1837) and Mary P.(M. Romelia B. Grayson 1848. I have other, though limited information on the family. Story County, Iowa Abraham P. Burns b. abt. 1827 in Va., married Sarah Pendroy in 1848, Delaware Cty., Indiana. Children: William M. b. 1848 Indiana Colista b. 1850 Iowa Albert P. b. 1852 Iowa Henry b. 1855 Iowa Lewis Emanuel b. 1856 Iowa Margaret Ann b. 1859 Iowa Lucy b. 1861 Iowa Abraham P. Burns II b. 1865 Iowa (after his father's death) Abraham died in April, 1865 on a hospital ship between Delaware and NY City, during the Civil War. I also have information on Robert Albert Burns, b. 1791 in Virginia, married Mariah Riley 1828 in Highland County, Ohio and died April, 1857 in Adams Co., Iowa. Children Sarah Olive, b. 1829, William Isaiah b. 1831 (m. Ada Helterbrand Adams Co., Oh) B.S. b. 1833, John C. b. 1837 (married Effie?, Maria Brown--Pike Co., Ohio) George Washington b. abt. 1840, Mahala b. 1842, Robert abt. 1844, Anna Maria b. 1848, Joseph b. abt. 1848. I have children of William and his son Robert Hamilton, b. 1869, m. Mary Anna Belle Herdman 1897. Hope this helps someone out there. Maybe we could all post unrelated Burns, once in a while.
