Yvonne, The children of John were Robert C. (by first wife) then Miranda, William (died at 8 years) Helen, John A. Clara, David H. George W., Warren, Oscar and Ida. The most coincidental name, of course, is the first son Robert. I can't remember if the Scots named their first son after the husband's or wife's father and I don't know anything about Mary Bailey's family (first wife.) Incidentally, the dad John's middlle initial was B--we've found nothing that says what it stands for. His brother William's middle initial was C. Also, Shannon, I did find a Frank in the family, son of John Alexander Burns (son of the above John.) John's wife was Eva Ellen VanVleet Burns b. 1852 in Hampshire, Il., d. 1935. She is buried in Superior, Wi. John A. died in 1911 in Iowa . Their children were Warren James, Charley Oscar, Frank H. (b. 1877 in Ill., married Lottie (no addt'l info., ) Benjamin and Clifford James Burns. I hope someone makes some contacts and/or discoveries today.
