Hello list, I've updated my website with not only my own family information, but also some data that I've put together to hopefully help others. Here's what you'll find. 1. Of course my family info with copies of documents such as those that I found at the National Archives in DC in my great great grandfather Louis KIRCHER's (born in Weinsberg, Wurttemberg) Civil War Pension files. Included in those papers are sworn statements made by friends to aid in the pension eligibility research. 2. I own a few census index cds and have full access to ancestry.com/ancestryplus and am willing to do look ups. Just click on the census image on my home page and it will take you to a page where there are directions to follow. Please follow them or I will not be able to answer your request. 3. Some inscriptions that I found on tombstones that were near those of my own family members. 4. The Last Wills of 4 WEINBERG/VINEYARD/VINYARD ancestors. They came from Lavern, Westphalia, Prussia to Cumberland County, New Jersey. 5. Four partial Ships' Lists all Liverpool, England to Philadelphia, PA. 1907 - 1910. Not all passengers were from England, so look them over for your ancestral names. 6. I transcribed 3 pages from the Philadelphia, PA. Orphan's Court Marriage Records Index 1885 - 1916. Many names there! 7. I put some old unknown photos from all over the world from ebay on my site in hopes that someone might find a relative there. If interested, you should be able to just right click on the enlarged photo and then left click on "Save Picture As". 8. Many fantastic useful free links. There are a few that provide limited access but still give you enough free information to start out with. I update the links monthly and mark new ones as NEW with bright red letters that you can not miss. 9. There is definitely something there for everyone from beginner to expert. If you're reading this from a specific surname mailing list and you can't find the surname in any of the documents/transcriptions or family trees, send me an email. Most likely that means that the surname is in my family tree but just hasn't found a spot on my website yet. If you're reading this post off of a Geographic mailing list and no one on my website is from that area, then check the ships' lists for country/state/city of origin or final destination. My Emma BURNS McDANIEL was for the most part around the areas of Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Hickory Hill,Pa., and Elkton,Md. I have no birth or death date for her. Emma had one child that I know of, and that is Francis born 1887, in Pa. I located a social page that referred to her as, Mrs. Emma Burns McDaniel, but Francis went by the last name of Burns. Francis'(Frank) parentsdied when he was still young, and he was raised by a Miss Annie Reynolds,so I am told. I have found no documentation to verify this. They may have been in the Missouri/Kansas area, as I have very little on him. Would you have anything on Emma? Thanks Doug for anything you might be able to add. Though this probably isn't a link, your discussion of George and Thomas Burns, and their mother Emma Burns McDaniel "rings a bell" in my research. Would the folks you speak of have resided around the Missouri/Kansas border in the late 1880s-early 1900s? Doug Sutton

Steve there are BURNS' buried in Leeds Cemetery, Leeds, Md. One is a George H. BURNS d. 1/8/1899 age 75. I also have a George BURNS that had a brother by the name of Thomas. My Grgrandmother was Emma BURNS McDANIEL. No link yet to the Burns in the area. Family spread thru possibly Beaver Co., then for sure Ohio by the Ohio river. Female sibling Mary to Kentucky. Hello, I have a James Burns who came to Nova Scotia in the early 1800's. I know about his children but not his parents so I am not sure if he came from Ireland or Scotland (documents say Ireland but I don't know whether originally Scotland). Does anyone have info on James Burns, in Hants County, Nova Scotia who would like to compare notes? I would love to find a connection to help me learn where the family originated. Thank you. Vern: I am really an amateur at genealogy but was interested in your inquiry as my gg grandfather David Burns, his wife Agnes Fergeson Burns and their eight children immigrated from Ballantrae, Scotland in 1854. Family history tells us that prior to leaving Scotland the family rented a farm near Ballantrae for a least a year. History prior to that is unknown. Also interesting to note that Agnes Ferguson (?) Burns was from Gavin. Probably doesn't help but interesting at least. J Sheppard

Good afternoon: Looking for relatives who are related to Archie Burns. He came to Lakeside, Ontario Canada. 1856. Afterwards to St. Marys where he Built up a Gardening and Nursery Business. He had a half brother by the name of Adam Burns from Salem Oregon U.S.A. Archie Burns was the eldest son of the late James Burns and Katie Cow and was born in the little fishing town of Girvan, County of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland in 1845.
