Yes YES Please!! I would appreciate that very much. Shannon Burns
My apologies. I forgot this doesn't just go to the person I replied to. The people mentioned that were said to be related were William Alexander Burns. He had a daughter named Adelphine. Somewhere around 1810. I was responding to this email: I have George Alexander Burns, Sr. b: Aug 17 1817 PA d: Apr 20 1896 Altamont, Labette Co. Kansas m: Adaline Florence Snider b: Jun 30 1839 Jay Co. Indiana d: May 25, 1912 Independence, Jackson Co., Mo. (only there in the hospital) m: Dec 23, 1854 Mahaska Co. Iowa, both buried in Altamont, Labette Co. Kansas. Their son Alfred Burns and his wife Hattie Angeline Denison moved to Craig County, Oklahoma (after residing in Nebraska and Wyoming for a while). Does any of this sound familiar? Hope so. Allice Burns Reynolds Shannon Burns

Hello Mary, That is a possibility. But I don't know where for sure My Gr. Grandfather was born. My mother used to say Glasgow. But I'm not sure of the accuracy. I had his immigration papers at one time, copies from the courthouse. I'll just have to get copies again. But as I recall it said nothing of his birthplace. It did show a "sponsor"? Did your James come to the states? Michele

Hi I have a James Burns born 1857 in Hamilton LKS (Parents Thomas Burns & Ann Williamson). James named his second son Patrick (and this has carried on down the generations) it may be that Patrick is a family name and that he may have had a brother Patrick. James worked in a colliery. Do you know where in Scotland he was born? I am researching Patrick Burns. Born approx July/Aug 5, 1857/1858 in Scotland. Married Elizabeth McGinnis, born May 1857/1858 also in Scotland. Immigrated to the US as a young man and they settled in Perry County, Ohio. Patrick was a coal miner and died at the age of 44 years, in 1900 , from a lung ailment. I do not know when or from what port Patrick and Elizabeth left Scotland. I know Elizabeth had relatives in the Cecil, Pennsylvania (US) area. She also went by Lizzie. Elizabeth died in 1929, in Rendville, Perry County, Ohio. Any info on my Gr. Grandparents would be appreciated. Thank you. Michele

G.G.grandfather, William Burnes (later changed to Burns) was b. 1816, Ohio, probably northeast area (Warren, Geauga, Lake County.) I have never found any info. on his parents, although his father came to US from Ireland prior to 1806 and his mother was born in Md. William named his only daughter Adelphine (unusual, I thought it might be a family name, it didn't belong to his wife's family) and I was wondering if anyone else had an Adelphine in their Burns family. Thanks, MC
The Burness family tree, which includes Robert Burns, can be found at: http://www.burness.ca/burns.html. I hope this helps some of you find a link. Bob
I apologize everyone, that was pretty goofy of me. There was a posting of someone who had family both from England and Ireland. They landed in Osage Kansas. I only know that my Grandfather is Chet Burns married Patricia Smart here in California. His fathers name was Frank Burns who was married to Lillian Mae Riley (or Connor) she was full blood Cherokee from the Patawatomi res in Kansas. They had 3 other children Laura Bell, Aaron, Frank, and my gpa Chet. His father was also I believe a Frank also. His father named Thomas? This is about all I know. Have been told we have family from both England and Ireland.
