    1. Anyone have a BURNS from NYC?
    2. Trying to reach a Paul Burns that left a message to Lucy back in 2002. I have a Henry Burns I've been looking for. Henry was born in northern Ireland. A few different birth records for him but guessing the most accurate is 1824 listed on his death certificate. Died in Brooklyn 27 April 1872. Married to Maryann Johnson in the Trinity Church NYC. Lived first on Williams Street in Brooklyn and next on Monroe Street. ( Just a few miles from your James Burns on Hoyt St Brooklyn in 1869.) Henry and Maryann's children's names from the family bible I have are Fanny and Sara Jane, who were twins. George Henry, Isabella (called Bella) , James Thomas, Robert Edward, a girl and last but not least my grandmother Maryanne. I need to link Henry to his parents and siblings. Hope someone can help. I don't think any mail has been lost, but delivery of it has certainly been delayed and subscribe/unsubscribe messages have been bouncing. Please have patience and wait a day or two before re-submitting any messages to the list. I'm sure the problems will be sorted soon. :-) Best wishes, Dave List Admin.

    3. I haven't made the request in a while, and I'm hoping there are some new list members out there. I'm looking for any information on the Tallahassee Burns. Specifically, I'm looking for any information on the origins of my g.g.grandfather, Michael Burns (who went by Mike, and Mack as well, and is misspelled on a census as Michel) He married Elizabeth (Eliza/Lizzie) Geddie. They lived in Spring Hill (Leon Co) FL and later Tallahassee. I know that he was born in GA sometime between 1814-1825, but I have no idea where in GA. There is a Civil War Pension record that I have seen, but again, I have no clue if he had siblings or who his parents are. Thanks!

    3. Hi from England. I was wondering if anyone from the other side of the pond would have some ideas on how I could find out what happened to my G.G. Uncle. His name was James Burns and in March 1860 he sailed from Liverpool to New Orleans looking for work and a better life. Over the next two years the family received ten letters from him, which we still have, describing the worsening situation. The last letter is dated, 'New Orleans 23rd June 1862' where he describes the Capture of New Orleans - 25th April. He mentions that he has 'joined a volunteer company of foreign subjects' but that is the last that was ever heard from him. His last correspondence address was: Mrs. Ann Connell, 218 Josephin St. Between Conscena & Magenzenes Street, New Orleans. It is practically certain that he died - possibly from disease - or was killed. I would be most grateful if anyone has any suggestions on how I can find out what happened to him. Many thanks. Nic Burns

We are looking for information on him and his parents etc. His name is John Lonnie Burns. He and our mother were never married. They met in Colorado. She became pregnant in 1954 and at some point he went to prison, exact reason not recalled but it was something like robbery or grand theft. Our mother used to visit him in prison. My sister was born in December of 1954. Our mother worked as a car hop at a diner in Colorado Springs and that is where she met my father. She married my father in November of 1955. Last my sister had heard was that her birth father had a family and that they were living in Kansas somewhere. If anyone knows of this Burns we would love any information that can be provided so that we can trace his and my sisters ancestors. Stacey __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
