    2. Good morning Stacey, Thanks for your suggestion. I don't know it could be a good possibility. I posted a message to the Mendenhall surname to see if anyone at that site may know anything about her. In 1860 she was living with a Mendenhall family, so maybe she was related to them. But if I hear nothing from either the Burns or Mendenhall site I will go ahead and post it with a notation about the county being incorrect. Deborah

It was in the Southeast part of the state near the border with Virginia. Around it are the counties of Galdia and Athens. Here is a direct link to the map http://www.reinhartgenealogy.com/MapOhio1835.htm Stacey _______________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Express yourself with Y! Messenger! Free. 2. Good evening to everyone, I would like to ask for a little help from the Burns surname community please. The newspaper article below states that Margaret was born in Mergo County, Ohio. Being an Ohioian myself I know there is no such county, don''t think there is a county in the United States with that name. Is there anyone that knows of her and or her family to tell me what county she was born in? I found her in 1860 in Wayne County, Indiana, at the age of 15 living with a Mendenhall family, was she related to them or just a boarder? She was living just down from the man she married, John C. Kitselman, he was 17 at the time. I have no connection to her and or the family that I know of. I do a lot of re-posting of articles at genealogy.com just to help everyone, and I don't want to put any misinformation out on the web if I can help it. Take a look and see if you can help me, please. Thank you, Deborah Stanley The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, February 22, 1906 MRS. MARGARET M. KITSELMAN died at her home in this city on Wednesday evening, February 14, 1906, at 10:30 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks with asthma and heart trouble.  Largely attended funeral services conducted by Rev. W.S. McCullagh were held at the Presbyterian Church on Saturday morning at ten o'clock, after which interment took place in the Chariton Cemetery. MARGARET MAHALA BURNS was born in Mergo County, Ohio, on August 27, 1847.  She was married in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, on November 16, 1869, to JOHN C. KITSELMAN who passed away in this city on June 14, 1897.  They were the parents of seven children, one of whom died in infancy.  Those who survive are MRS. ETTA KIMSEY of this city, ALBERT and EDGAR of Wheatland, North Dakota, FRANK of Rawlins, Wyo., ALFRED of Peoria, Ill., and WILLMER of Galesburg, Ill.  MRS. KITSELMAN had been an active member of the Presbyterian Church for sixteen years and was a faithful, devoted worker.  She possessed a kind and pleasant disposition and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.  Her death is sincerely mourned and the sorrowing children have the sympathy of the entire community. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert September 28, 2004 iggy29@rnetinc.net http://www.rootsweb.com/~ialucas/Main.htm posted at this site with Nancee's permission

    2. It's possible but I haven't got all the marriages and their children as yet. I do know a few.but they are the women. This family lived on William Street when they were married and then at 242 Monroe street. They were I think from Belfast Ireland and before that Scotland. Where do you do your research? Have you got into Ancestery.com as yet.?
