Thank you for answering my posting. I don't have enough information to say whether he might connect or not - however - I just heard from someone else that does connect and he says that there was a James in our line that went to middle Tennessee in 1804 and lived there until 1831 and went on to Illinois.. However, he had a son James and I don't know where he went. There were other brothers to the older James and they named their kids James too!. He and my Jeremiah were two of 12 sons and one daughter! I don't envy your trying to figure this one! It took us 30 years to connect my John Burns born in 1821 to this family! You might try contacting them about Sol. The Douglas Aircraft plant was located at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII. Hello Christy, There was a Thomas P. Burns in Benton Co. Ark. He was the son of John Burns of Maury Co. TN. This John was one of 3 John Burns in originally Bedford Co. TN. He was in the Revolutionary War. I believe he served on the NC Line. I hope this helps you, Lorene Noennig

Richard A. Whitson Jr, 69, of Waco (Texas), died June 2, 2000 in Nashville, Tenn. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. June 5, 2000, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ramsdell and the Rev. Mark DeVries officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Whitson was born July 4, 1930, to Richard "Dick" and Mary Othell Wilmouth Whitson of Midland. He married Louise Nall in 1955 and they would have celebrated their 45th anniversary on Aug. 27 of this year. He served in the United States Navy and was Auto Center Manager for Sears for over 30 years. Mr. Whitson was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Midland, Texas Chapter of the Masonic Lodge No. 623. He is survived by his wife, Louise Whitson; one son, Richard A. Whitson III of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Susan DeVries and husband, Mark of Nashville; three grandchildren, Richard Adam DeVries, Debbie DeVries and Leigh DeVries; three sisters, Peggy Lindley of Lubbock, Barbara Ratliff of Hide Away Lake and Mae Spencer of Midland; six nieces and 10 nephews.
