Yvonne, Sorry none of those names are mention in any of the information I have. I'll keep you info in case I can ever connect to yours. I can't believe how many Burns families were running around in the early 1800s in Pa. Jean
Jean, I don't have a lot on this Burns clan of mine, but I will send what I have and hope to make a connection, or at least a clue.( one can always hope lol) I start with William Burns, no dates, m. Rebecca Slaymaker b. 1807 Their children: Daniel is mine. He went to Potter Co. from Lanc. and married Hettie Naomi HAINES who was born in Emporium Pa. They lost some family members in a flood while they were living in Austin Pa. ( I don't know whose family!) In the spring they built a raft, and loaded their family and belongings and headed down the Sinimahoning, to the Susquehanna and put to shore at Muddy Run by Holtwood. (It was called Wissler in those days) Henry L. b. 1840 Elizabeth Miller b. 1847 I do not know if Miller is a middle or married name Robert b. 1835 The children of Daniel and Hetty are: Beckie Lowella m. Daniel Eckman Belle who m. Ephram Seldomridge Harry Daniel m. Estella Trimble Elizabeth (My g.grandmother) m. Galen McKinney (another brick wall!) That is basically what I know of this family. Any crumb of information would be greatly appreciated. Yvonne
Any chance you all talking about Burns from places other than Missouri could change the subject line?? Thanks. [email protected] wrote: > Jean, thanks for checking. Hello JBattle508: Is your THOMAS ALVIN BURNS 61 years old now? Do you have a birthdate? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, June 14, 2000 8:52 PM Subject: [BURNS-L] Burns, GEORGIA > Searching for "Thomas Alvin Burns", age: 61, was Hospital Corpsman in USN & > USMC. > > > ==== BURNS Mailing List ==== > Did you know there is a BURNS GENEALOGY DATA website? I really don't know if they were in Lancaster, I know they were in Ashland (Skuylkill Co,) Ashley and Wilkes-Barre( both in Luzerne Co.). The first Burns that I have real records on is Michael Burns( great grandfather) born Carbon Co.( Skuylkill Co) 1838. I am after the person I THINK is Michaels father, Patrick Burns born Belfast Ireland and immigrated to Pottsville( Skuylkill) . I have a copy of "intent " to become a citizen. What is the name of your Burns in Lancaster? I have a little info. Do you have any years in mind. Jean
Searching for "Thomas Alvin Burns", age: 61, was Hospital Corpsman in USN & USMC.
Ellen, pardon me for butting in here, but by anychance were your Pa. Burns from the Lancaster Pa. area? I have been at a brick wall for some time. Yvonne
Cheryl - I have the FTM disc #10 if someone has not done a look up for you yet! ALSO, I have a friend who's Burns line is in Minnesota, she gave me her grandfather's infor and I looked in Minneapolis last year and could not find a darn thing, is there a good source for that state - it seems pretty dry on info... Hello to you Dreamwalker, I am searching for Burns descendants but my Burns family comes from Pa. not Missouri. I am writing to ask if you can tell me your connection with the Lakota's? In my search for Burns family, I found a cousin who had moved to Wisconsin as a child, became a Jesuit, and is now working with the Lakota's in North Dakota. I don't know about the sites, I've mostly been using the Family tree maker search engine and google search engine. Sometimes you can get "good hits" from there. cheryl
Rachelle, No, no one has done it yet! I guess about everyone is like me, raising kids and critters and trying to pay bills! CDs are on my birthday and wish list this year! I'd sure appreciate it. thank you, cheryl
Listers I am looking for any information on BURNS, Charles Herbert that resided in Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa. He married STONE, Margaret and had one child that I am aware of. He also was convicted of a very serious crime of murder and then later supposed to have moved on to Missouri after his release from prison. I have no dates on Charles but believe he was born around 1880. Any help that you might be able to give would be greatly appreciated. In advance thanks to one and all. Like you, My "Burns" ancestor is either Byrne or Byrnes. There are two Margaret Byrne(s) in my tree, both a generation apart. The first married Patrick Donnelly in County Armagh, Parish Forkhill about 1826. They emigrated to Canada, about 1839-42. The second Margaret Byrne(s) married Patrick's son John Owen (or Owen John) on April 20, 1852 in St Edwards Catholic Church in Westport, Ontario, Canada. John Owen's wife was from County Louth, Dundalk Parish, parents were Bridget and Brian Byrne(s). Probably no tie in, but one always hopes?? It seems, in my family anyway; that they all changed to the common Burns around 1899.
