His two sons, Charles and John. Charles, b. 1721 in Ireland and John born 1725 in Ireland. I am in John's line therefore I have only pursued that line. John's son William, b. 1750 in Dobbs County NC. He had nine siblings - none with the names you gave. William had a son, Josiah Elzevan, b. 1802 in Greensboro, NC.(my gr gr gr grandfather). Josiah had 14 siblings - none with names & date you gave. His son, Allison, b. 1829 in Guilford County NC (my gr gr grandfather) had 10 siblings - none with names & dates to match those you gave. I do know that Pauline Burney Brightman mentions the name of Simon in her work. She says, "Around the time that the sons of Simon/William Burney were acquiring land in Beaufort and Bladen Counties of NC, another pair of Burney brothers were settling in nearby Guilford County". Here she is speaking of Charles and John. She does not explain the family connection, if any. Our Burney Family Reunion is being held in Springfield, Mo on 14, 15, & 16 June. Dear Leland, My name is John Burney. My father is Frank Burney living in Des Moines, Iowa but he was born in Aurora, Mo. He had a brother Robert who was from Springfield, who died some a few years back and a twin brother who currently is in Chicago, Ill. Roberts' daughter, my cousin, Barbara Burney James lives in or near Springfield. Are there any connections? I am currently living in Alberta, Canada. Looking forward to hearing from you.
