I am missing a link. Maybe we can help each other. My ggrandfather was James J. Burney born abt. 1858. Married Mary Ann Story in 1879 in Lauderdale, Ala. Bayless Weathers signed his marriage license (a son of Mary and Bill weathers.) He also lived next door to James B. Burney in the 1880 census. That stated he was born in Missouri. Living with James B. at the time were two other young boys. John & WIlliam Burney. I like to think they were James J. brothers. I had heard that my James J. was raised by an uncle when his father & mother died. I am missing who his father is and therefore missing that connection to all the other Burneys in Lauderdale. Since he was born in Missouri, perhaps he a child of some who went there in the early 1800's with Charles Burney. I am going to Lauderdale sometimes this summer to search records. Will let you know if I find anything. Look forward to hearing fro! m you. Alice
