William Burney son of James Burney and Margaret ? married Cynthia Jones (Davis) had a Probate listed in Baton Rouge, La. courthouse. Cynthia stated he died 1831 was asking the court for tutorship of their four minor children; Elizabeth, Jane, Pleasant and what looked like Simon ( very hard to distinquish the writing was very hard to read). Cynthia is still on the census for East Baton Rouge Parish in 1840. Then in 1850 Pleasant Burney is in the home of his sister Jane and her Husband; they are living in New Orleans, La.
