I have found records stating that he married Rachel Howell Sep 7, 1843 in Robeson County NC. I also found in the 1900 Federal Census a "Shipman Burney" 81 years old wife "Ann ?" It states that they had been married 27 years. Does anyone have any information on a Shipman Burney married to Ann? Judging by his age in 1900..it's possible that he married Rachel....then later "Ann" Also, does anyone have any idea where Shipman & Rachel (or Ann) are buried. Their son...Alexander "Sandy" Matthew Burney is buried in the Burney & Ward Cemetary in Tar Heel NC. But Shipman isnt buried there. Am also searching for old photos of this Burney Clan.
