She was born in 1899 in Augusta, Oneida Co., NY. Her parents were Henry C. & Emma H. Green Stiles. She married a Howard F. Smith abt. 1918 in Utica, NY, had a son Robert H. Smith in 1919 in Utica (she did not raise him), divorced & remarried a Burney (first name unknown). In 1928 she was living in Tupper Lake, Franklin Co., NY as Rhoda Burney.
